Multi Hundred Million Jackpots have become Boring.

Once again, the recent build up of the latest multi hundred million jackpot had everyone hoping and hopping for a win.

Now, here comes another one to sucker you in again at $2.00 a lick; $3.00 if you want the gourmet treat.

We're saving a lot more now that we wait for the suckers to lap up the losers over 25 jackpot rollovers,

while deluding themselves for the sake of trying to win even at best a crappy lower tier prize that doesn't reflect the probability of winning.

The one thing that all these odds and mediocre prize changes have done in our view has made watching and playing the multi-state games boring, dull and uninteresting.

Oh Boy, I was Really Dreaming the other night.

Had another one of those reality dreams.

I'm absolutely amazed how detailed and real these dreams are: the touch, sight, color, sound, smells.

Everything down to the smallest leaf on a tree, the glass in the windows with the reflected light, building architecture, hand rails, carpet, people, wall texture... I could go on forever.

Anyway, it was the content/event of the dream that made this one different than most of the other alternate realities.

I was in an office/commerce building that had a restaurant/coffee shop down a main hallway; near ground level.

The dream became real just after I went up a flight of steps and was heading to the coffee shop.

As I walked the hallway, it lead to an area with windows viewing the forested place near the office building.

I stopped by the window and as I was looking out, I said to myself, "I'm staying here this time, as long as I can."

I stood there for at least 5 minutes then realised I was heading to the coffee shop to check my lottery ticket.

Walking to the shop, I decided to browse a bit in the shop before checking the ticket; I had a feeling it was a winner.

After wandering a bit, I made my way over to the ticket scanner.

I pulled out the ticket and waved the barcode under the scanner light and waited a second or two.

Chimes began ringing from the scanner and an automated voice said, "You're a winner."

I looked at the display and it read as, "You've won the Jackpot, $209,000.00 !!!"

People were looking at me wide eyed and surprised.

I smiled and left quickly.

This was a place I've never seen before and the scanner did not look like any scanners we use here in MN.

Joyous or Scary, doesn't matter, my dreams have a history of happening in this world.

Interesting thing is, so do my daydreams... Or is this the dream.

Life is but a Dream... ?

The data pasted into Excel must be of a format that has a single non-numeric character at the beginning of each set of compressed numbers.

In this case, we used the middot '·' character, but it can be anything other than '-', '+' or a natural space hex code 20 or escape code \x20.

This causes Excel to treat the string of numbers as a string and prevents Excel from trying to convert the string of numbers into an actual number in Excel.

The usage is =StringDecpompress(str, n), where str is the cell containing the compressed string of numbers and n is the pick size of the desired separated number set.

Below is an example where n = 5:

We've been presented an interesting numerical problem.

How do you decompress a number string from this 68223031 to that 06 08 22 30 31?

Well, it really isn't hard.

First, divide all digits up in to groups of two, if one is left over, that's ok, like this, 68 22 30 31.

Now, knowing this is suppose to be a set of 5 acceding numbers, we can see 68 is out of order.

Next, divide the 68 in to two numbers, 6 and 8.

Last, add the leading zeros and tada, 06 08 22 30 31... Mathemagical.

Here's another one, 2673442.

Divide up, 2 67 34 42.

67 is out of order, so it becomes 2 6 7 34 42.

Add the leading zeros, tada, 02 06 07 34 42... Bob's Your Uncle.
