When He Died
Lights are flashing, people are dashing,
it's so cold out it would kill a snowman,
Cash register's ringing, Caroler's singing,
and a man digs through a trash can.
Everyone's shopping, nobody's stopping,
as he holds out the paper cup he's found,
With holiday cheer, filling the air,
he begs from his seat on the cold ground.
Music is playing, everyone's saying,
Merry Christmas and oh yes Happy New Year,
Yet all step around, the man on the ground,
pretending there's no one to see there.
Hungry and cold, broken and old,
With a beard and all dirty they think he's strange,
Their filled with detest, by his simple request,
can you please help me out with some spear change.
No one would dare, to venture near,
the old man with change to be given,
All stepped aside, as he walked with no pride,
to the alley with the box that he lives in.
On the way there, he happened hear,
these words from the mouth of a small child,
Look! Santa Claus!, which made him pause,
then he turned and he winked and he smiled.
His eyes twinkled bright, on that cold winters night,
when he climbed in his box from the storm,
As he laid down his head, on his newspaper bed,
the words of that child kept him warm.
And the very next day, when they brushed away,
the snow from the box where he lied,
They all thought it strange, he'd have cup fill of change,
and a smile on his face when he died.
Well it has rained all night ans is suppose to rain all day.I guess it doesn't help to complain.I should just be happy it isn't ice.Have a great day!!I am off to work!![]()
It has rained since Sat.My basement is flooded and my back yard looks like a swimming pool.We are suppose to get a break from the rain today and then it starts right back up tomorrow!I finally got my Christmas decorations up.
Maybe we will get a little snow for Christmas!Have a great day everyone!!
The Real Meaning of Christmas
A Christmas Poem by Joseph P. Martino Copyright© 2003
Two thousand years ago the King of Kings was born.
'The Lamb of God' later made to feel the thorn,
If his words are accepted and not scorned,
They will make us all reborn.
Though God's grace, Joseph and Mary presented
A gift to the world that day, which we can all repay,
by living the ten commandments each and every day.
Try to remember and keep in your heart and mind
Jesus's gospel while here on Earth,
Redemption not a life lived in constant mirth.
Peace on Earth, good will toward man
Everyone should try it, whenever they can.
The Lord gave us the option and choice of 'free will,'
Now it's up to us to fit the bill.
So when you’re Christmas shopping for family and friends,
and money is tight at both ends,
Remember that the greatest gift of all,
Is your love of Jesus in the manger stall
Ordinary Angels
Not all angels are in heaven;
not all angels have wings.
Some are just ordinary people,
who do ordinary things.
They carry their cross for Jesus
by the way they act and live.
And when the need arises,
of themselves they will give.
Quiet-like and unselfish,
for others they pave the way.
Though they never will admit it,
they often save the day.
They stand up for Christian values
and are honest and true.
They treat others with compassion,
with kindness, and love too.
Not all angels are in heaven;
not all angels have wings.
Some are just ordinary people
who do many Christ-like things.

Jacob considers himself to be one of the lucky ones because he's the only one of his family to have survived two years in a concentration camp. He's now nearing 90 and his only remaining joy is the national lottery, which he's been playing for years without success. But then he wins the big one, a prize of $10 million.
A journalist from the Times calls on him for a story.
Jacob tells him, "As I'm the only one in my family to have survived the concentration camps, this has helped me decide how to make use of my large win. So, I've decided to donate $5 million to the Save the Children Fund, $3 million to the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, $750,000 to the Jewish Museum, $750,000 Hadassah Hospital and $500,000 to be shared amongst my friends. I'm also thinking of donating $1 to the Nazi Party from my winnings."
The journalist is surprised. "But Jacob, how can you think of donating even $1 to the Nazi party after everything that's happened to you and your family?"
Jacob rolls up his sleeve, points to his arm, smiles and replies, "It's only fair. They gave me the winning numbers."
