Youtube Downside Two Thumbs Down!

Published:

It figures. I just went to Radio Shack to get an SD card for my camcorder. I bought a 1 gig, which is around 30 minutes recording time . Just to find out that Youtube no longer accepts more than 100 MB for video uploads. Something about compression to fit that size. However, the people who did upload videos longer than 10 minutes in the beginning, still have that capability, because they were grandfathered in. Not fair!

This means no more than about 3 minutes on high quality recording. Their max is 10 minutes, but that means poor quality videos, and less compression. My corder doesen't have an option of less quality, like sp, lp, and ep on a video recorder. Not that I would choose a less quality recording just to get on youtube. No siree. So basically, if i had an option of setting the corder to a lesser quality, I could probably have a ten minute video, but a crappy one.

Oh well. I'll just have to make 3 minute videos.
