Covid started in the US on 1/20/20 Gas was $2.62. 4/27/2020 gas was $1.87 the record low Trump refers to. One year later when Biden was sworn in on 1/20/2021 it was $2.47. Not much of a difference there just 4 cents. Obviously covid didn't keep the prices down that long.
One year after that 1/20/2022 gas was $3.42. April 12, 2022 gas was $4.19. This was when Biden started blaming Putin. June 13, 2022  gas hit a record high of $5.10. He blamed Putin again. Another year later, Jan 20 2023 gas was still $3.51.  Covid ended in the US on May 5, 2023. Gas was $3.64. As of  8/21/2023 just 2 days ago it was $3.98.
So to summarize in an easy to understand timeline because your dem/lib brain is too f'ing small to comprehend all of this at once...
1/20/17  gas was $2.43  Trump takes office.
1/20/20  gas was $2.62  Covid starts.
