My leather house moccasins re soled
Published:
Updated:
The leather house moccasins with leather soles I purchased https://blogs.lotterypost.com/jap69/2024/11/new_leather_house_moccasins_not_broken_in.htm became more slippery the more I wore them. Slid across carpet and smooth flooring when I wanted to push or pull a chair in or out. Also was concerned about slipping on floor and falling.
So I purchased a rubber soling sheet to resole the moccasins.
I cut the soling sheet leaving a little extra around the moccasin soles. Use E6000 adhesive according to directions and applied the soling sheet. Set moccasins on top of folded cloth thick enough to conform to shape of the moccasin soles. Added weight on top and let set for 24 hours. Took them after glue set and trimmed the new soling flush with where glue ended on edge of sole.
Works great. No slip or sliding now. I also like the thin rubber soling [ 1.2 mm thick ] which keeps a low profile on the moccasin soles. Do not even see the new soling while standing which keeps the moccasin appearance.
Have them on right now.

I try to think of solutions to a problem.
I find with the thin rubber soles added cushions each step better. Helps eliminate the jolt to my spinal column.
