You are too much. I have a new model cell and I have a new GPS. You know very well, that wasn't the debate on the other blog. You must have gotten detention in school all the time, Pac, for fighting with all the kids. LOL "this is my sandbox" :-)

You have GPS enabled like in the video? Then you should've known what I meant. Man...You made me go through all that typing for nothing? Who's pulling who's leg now?..lol

You responded to my first post on this blog which was the seond after the first entry. I was the second reply to mike's blog. You knew very well that I wasn't talking about the article, so for you to say that I knew what the debate was about is twisting my words. True the debate took a life of it's own, but the original statement I made in my first post was true. I simply made a statement about how the govt. can hear conversations on phones that have GPS enabled in them. That is all. You corrected me by saying that they don't. That's twisting it around? I don't think so.

I don't think you have one like in the video. You must be messing with me now.

No, not a GPS phone. I have a Sony W300i. It has a lot of features, but I bought a Gamin Nuvi last month. No, I am not messing with you. I am very much aware that there are GPS enabled phones. I don't think you really read what I wrote. You can also use a laptop with a GPS receiver (nothing new) but I get lost a lot on the Cape and in the Estates and don't want to end up at the bottom of a canal. Anyway, as I wrote before, I am not a techie and only know what I have and what it does.
You just said it again... "the govt. can hear conversations on phones that have GPS enabled in them" and I am saying it does not have to be this GPS phone you are talking about or linked here to you tube. ANY phone that uses cell phone towers will send out a signal that can be tracked.   If you pay a service, the police can ask the provider for your personal info. If it is a prepaid cell, it is harder to track since you do not have an ongoing account, but they can still track the signal if it is in use. I still don't believe anyone can listen to your conversations at home if your cell phone is turned off. That you would need to prove to me. That's paranoid. Do you think people are watching you through your television set when it's turned off? Poltergeists?

I'm not paranoid, I just do more research than most folks have time to do.

Just like when I tell people not to eat margarine because it has hydrgenated oils in them that wreack havoc on the liver and other parts of the body. It's banned in two countries. But people look at me like I'm nuts.

Or don't drink water with flouride in it. Hitler used it on people to poison them. How many people know that? Not a lot, but they'll argue until the 12th of never.

Or that Prescot Bush funded the nazi regime. Oh I can prove that one if you want. Not that I couldn't prove the cell phone one, but that was a year or so ago and i'd have to dig it up.

Too many to list and getting off topic, but you get the idea. Trust me, this whole police state is getting worse and worse. Keep thinking everything is hunky dori, it'll be too late to do anything about it by the time people wake up, at this rate anyway.

at time index 07:20::09:14, Judge Andrew Napolitano discusses how cell phones can be activated by gov't agency.

Thanx Time*treat. Just skip to 7:40 and you'll hear the Judge talk about the phone.

I guess the famous Judge Naoplitano is paranoid too....lol

You wanted proof justx, you got it.

Sorry timetreat, i didn't see you say the time 7:20 already...lol

That's amazing, I didn't know they turned them on. It's funny because just the other day my cell phone shut off by itself three times in about 5 minutes. I was very frustrated because i was trying to put more money into my account, and everytime I got to the part where I enter the pin number it would shut off, even though I don't have a GPS. HMMMMM

I doubt if the power shut off, Pac, but I've never used a prepaid phone. You probably lost the signal.   My phone automatically says good-bye and goes into a stand-by mode when I'm not using it too. Okay, I'll look at the link time*treat sent. Still, what the hack do you mean"you've got proof" That IS what I've been saying. You said NOT every cell phone can be tracked UNLESS is has GPS and I said you were wrong. Now you are saying I'm the one who made the mistake when it's all in black and white. This sounds like one of those debates between Obama and Clinton. "That's not what I said" ..... "Yes, you did say it" ..... "You are twisting my words." ..... "At least I didn't..yadda, yadda, yadda."
Avatar time*treat -

It looks like you two are talking about 2 different things. You are both correct. Any new phone can be tracked whether or not it has a *user* accessible GPS. They can also be turned on without your knowledge.

Thank you time*treat.
By the way, I listened to most, but not all of it, and will listen to the whole speech later. However, we were NOT talking about the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act IS an abonimation and DOES violate human rights. Pac, now you are talking about something else and still referring to an article saying the police department, AFTER getting a search warrant, can look in someone's cell phone IF there is evidence of illegal activity or it is suspect. The article is about what or what not should or should not be included in a legal search. NOBODY (included me) ever said that the cops have the right to bust into your house. The Patriot Act is entirely different from what we were discussing. The Patriot act says the government doesn't need to go through the legal process and get an impartial judgment on something if you are a suspect. This is not the same. Maybe your mind says they are related, but let's stick to the subject if you are going to tell me I misunderstood something. I often go off on a tangent myself, but this was talking about a local police department (I'd have to go back & look) using information in a cell phone during a legal search. I would have to look at my blog but I know in the past I wrote how wrong the Patriot Act is and how our rights are being slowly stripped from us. If you go back and read my posts on Mike's blog, I said that using a drug dealer is a bad example. If I you stopped for speeding and a cop grabbed you cell phone to use as incriminating evidence, then I would agree it was totally wrong, illegal, unconstitutional, etc. On the other hand, if you were talking on the phone while driving and caused an accident, I would say he has every right to use it as proof of the time you were talking, if you were breaking the law.

I was told it was only GPS, but maybe now they're getting more crafty and applying it to all phones. Like most things in life, progression applies. You've got to remember that this is a slow but eventual process that is exponentially growing, and the elite is catching up. If you saw an earlier post in this blog, to timetreat I said that I didn't know that they turned them on automatically. So that initself might be something new like the progression thing I was talking about.

Technology changes by the minute, so no points for you...lol

You were talkning about mike's tracking not eavesdropping, so don't even go there. Nice try though.

Typo... I meant "abomination" like the judge stated. My fingers hurt (seriously) I need to get off for a while. Maybe for a month! LOL

Have a nice night, Pac.

Justx, why are you so stubborn. Timetreat says to skip to 7:20. That's where he talks about the phones being turned on. Geeesh

Of course it didn't make sense to you when you watched it. You have to go to the part..........7:20 time.

Judge Napolitano is a judge, and they can also stick a probe up your yin yang also. Ask the Napolitano if you remove the battery if they can turn it on. And while you are at it ask him how much he gets paid to hype and make people paranoid on Fox. Why don't you also ask him what signaling system they use, the frequency, and the cell companies that allow their infratructure to be monitored by the authorities. Judge "Eddie Munster" Napolitano is about as technically qualified to inform the public about cell phone infrastructure as Keith Richards is qualified to land the space shuttle, manually.

The thing you can't pound through peoples' head is that 1) just because someone has badge & uniform doesn't mean they're honest and 2) if they can use this technology, so can your stalker ex-gf, or someone who wants a chunk of that nice jackpot you just won.
Avatar pacattack05 -

Jarasan, it's true that if you take the battery out it won't work, but who wants to constantly do that?

Keep believing that this country's govt. is doing you right.

Yes Tenaj, right on the button. Everything is beautiful, the butterflies are out in the fields, just look at them so nice. My govt. is honest about everything, how could you talk about our wonderful leaders? How dare you? You must be a conspiracy freakazoid or a communist...lol

Yeah...keep believing that. When the rug is pulled out and you fall on your butt, you'll run out to get some ice, but there won't be any ice. Global warming melted all the ice...lol

So did you watch the video? key points "known mafia individuals" and the final word the only way around it is to remove the "battery". You know, the phone has been modified unbeknownst to the "mobster" in order to accomplish monitoring a mic.. and the battery must be "in". Shepard Smith is a frinking news reader, and another hype and freak people out Fox personality.

Some people smell s**t all the time, it means the upper lip needs cleaning, or it is time to get out of the outhouse. If you have something to say, say it, don't talk s**t and then run away.

Jarasan, you're entitled to your opinion. But you base them on info that is trivial. Just look at the entire picture, and not just one pixel.

Pac, after all the posts, sometime people have other things they have to do in life. I just got back from my errand and saw your ridiculous accusation. So I repeat - you are a big baby. Rarely in over 2 years have I called anyone a name, but you wrote a lot of things that weren't true technologically and then changed the subject to prove you were right.

If you want to say I run away from controversy, go ahead. Although mine might not be as interesting as others, I do have some kind of a life away from LP. If it makes you feel better I'll say what you want "You won, Pac. OMG! You are the king. I bow down to your very presence." Okay - whatever turns you on.

Speaking of turning on things (and believe me I'm not) I can't imagine the police of FBI wanted to turn on my phone, my computer or anything else I won or check out my GPS to see where I've been.

I don't usually agree with Jarasan, since we are politically opposite most of the time, but he makes a valid point. I am not too familiar with this judge, but we all know that judges are not elected by the people. Pac, why don't we all go out and get weapons, build bomb shelters and live in fear. When the papers announced that Countrywide was in big trouble, lots of people closed their CDs losing lots of money. I told someone not to do that and I just got a thank you when her CD matured. Panic, panic, panic. Go look at the list of banks that have failed in the past 10 years on the FDIC site. It's really short. Most banks are bailed out by other institutions and in no case has the FDIC failed to pay depositors unless they exceeded the $100,000 limit. But one day I pick up the paper and it showed people standing in line to take out their money because they were told the sky was falling.

I don't have a Pollyanna syndrome at all. (even if you weren't talking about me) I know there are conspiracies everywhere. There have been spies around since before any of us were born. I know more about this than many and could tell you why, but you wouldn't believe me anyway. All I ever said was that most people who are reading these blogs today don't need to worry about their cell phones being monitored or taken away unless they do something illegal. Living in fear is exactly what the government wants us to do.

Now, really, I'm getting a lot of pain in my wrists, so it's good-bye again, at least for now.

And of course you are entitled to your opinion. You consider facts trivial, that is also your choice. But what a lot of people do, is take bits, pieces, and pixels, and construct what they want to believe, again your choice. You can say what I said is an opinion, it isn't. Electrical engineering is reponsible for those pixels and that is what I get paid to do. Can you read a schematic? I used to do it every day, no need anymore, now it is flowcharts and thick manuals. I know how this crapola works, literally. So don't tell me about trivial.

I do see the entire picture and how it gets there, been doing it a long time. So when some news person comes on the TV and tells us something having to do with technology don't assume it to be accurate or a real world representation of what is possible.   You hear of the CIA mole? She didn't hack into the system, she stole passwords, social engineering, just like the mafia phones, some one had to get in there to modify it to do what they said it did. Remember the copier in the Russian embassy? The one with the camera in it? A tech. had to come in and change the film.    Remember the mics in the wall at the American embassy? Remember the tunnel here in Georgetown that led to the back wall of the new Russian compound?   Etc. etc. hyberbole exaggeration of what is possible in reality. Oh yeah praise Jesus!

The fact that you believe in organized reiligion tells a lot about how you think, but that's another reality. Are you seriously siiting at your computer and telling me that the govt. isn't deceiving us all? You've got to be kidding me. Just because I show an iota of something very huge that you pick and choose as unworthy dosen't mean it's not true. You sound like a very intelligent person, and again your belief system regarding organized religion aside, seems worthy of further discussion, however, it bothers me. I can't put my finger on it. It's as though you're defending something that is obviously blatantly out of control, yet you can't see it.

I say trivial because a statement made by a select few to whom you disagree with shouldn't in my opinion be a factor. This is not the first time and won't be the last time that certain officials in govt. lied. I'm sure even you can attest to that. What makes you so sure that it has stopped? You think that greedy politicians have all of a sudden changed their ways? You really don't believe that, do you? You think they've conformed to monk's behaviors because Jarasan thinks it can't possibly be true?

C'mon, give us all a break already. Stop with the rosy picture when you and I and everyone reading this knows that this world has been corrupt form A to Z. If you can't see this then I can't posssibly have a lively debate with you. I say this because I've tried to have a healthy debate with radical christians who think they have a monopoly on truth, and I pretty much gave up presenting the evidence otherwise. It's an uphill battle when the other party refuses to use the brain he or she's been given and blindly follow other people's interpretations without question.

It's beeen nice talking to you. Closed minded people will never allow the opportunity for logic and different perspectives as a learning process. Being open minded dosen't mean you have to agree, it just means that there may be another perpective or perspectives that you might not have been aware of. How can someone make a wise choice if they are ill informed?

I'll know for sure by asking this question to you. Do you believe the universe is only about 6 thousand years old? If you do then we're done discussing anything else even at the most basic remotely intelligible level. I think I know what the answer is.
