Being Attacked!!!!

Published:

I'm being taken over by a hacker named Hacker.g..............

It literally took me an hour to run a whole bunch of anti this and adaware that, and spy bot. I finally got through. The computer would freeze, after logging in, while waiting for MSN to load. I've must have rebooted this compooter atleast 21 times.

Also by Web surfer............BHOT.................My Web Search......etc...........

This is uncalled for.

Anyone have some advice, other than the obvious? In other words, is there a quick, temporary fix, until I resolve this dilemma? Sort a like a fix-a-flat for your tire. LOL.......

Install Norton Internet Security 2006, and enable every feature that's available. (Although the one feature offering parental control can be ignored.) Be sure to do all the scans that it recommends during the install process (don't skip any steps).

Also be sure that you run Windows Update once every week or two, and install every update available. You can run Windows Update from Internet Explorer -- it's in the Tools menu.

Avoid using peer-to-peer file sharing programs like eDonkey, Grokster (which is out of business now), etc. (I can't think of all the other names).

Never run (double-click) any .EXE, .COM, .BAT, .VB, or any other file from anybody other than a trusted, legitimate company, especially if it arrives through e-mail.

Run AdAware (free download from www.lavasoft.com) every couple of weeks. (Be sure to click the update button before every scan to get the latest spyware definitions file.)

Thanx Todd, I have some of them, and used them. I need something powerful to overtake this.
With spybot, they reappear, after every run.
