LuckieStarr, I beg to differ. Those lyrics indeed are good times. I use to think that way until I heard this song. The Evans' on Good Times knew how to have the blues. They paid daily dues and everything was alright. You have to be able to see the blues jumping up and down with joy. This is a song that rings so true in knowing how to have the blues. When you've done everything you can, you might as well be happy. It's called "Fiesta in Blues" I don't know who wrote it but I have it on Natatie Cole's CD "Take a Look".

I posted the lyrics because I was reminiscing, while listnening to the song, and thought it would be a nice thing to post.

Interesting to note, many many poor people are content with basic needs met, such as health, religion, attitude, A strong family bond, hard work, and the American way, which exemplifies integrity, accomplishment, such as working with a limited income, and either try to make it doable, and if it dosen't work out, well....Get Over It!!! Pouting never got anyone anyone anywhere.

    To me, the song sounds like a rejoicing of overcoming the bad times. Atleast in the sense that they are mentaly stable, whereas other families would normaly lose their faith. Sure, they're no better off financially, but always with a winning attitude, Affirmation.

I think if you look at it that way, you can see why they called it "Good Times".
