Second Mega Millions jackpot ticket sold in Maryland this year
BALTIMORE, Md. — Maryland is certainly having a mega streak of luck this year thanks to Mega Millions.
One Mega Millions ticket worth $189 million — with a cash option of $129.7 million — matched all six numbers including the Mega Ball.
The winning numbers were 7, 10, 30, 37, and 53, with Mega Ball number 1.
This is the second Maryland Mega Millions jackpot win this year, following the $26 million jackpot claimed by a Mt. Airy woman in late February.
"While the Maryland Lottery is no stranger to big Mega Millions jackpots, we're very excited to bring this win back to Maryland," said Maryland Lottery Director of Communications Carole Everett. "We're looking forward to meeting and congratulating the lucky ticket holders."
The jackpot ticket was purchased at Dash In, located at 7845 Quarterfield Road in Severn. For selling the jackpot ticket, the retailer will receive up to a $100,000 commission. The winners have 182 days to claim their prize and must come in person to the Lottery's Claims Center, located at 1800 Washington Blvd.
The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 44 states and jurisdictions. Mega Millions drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday evening at 11:00 p.m., and the winning numbers are published minutes later at USA Mega, a Web site devoted to the two biggest United States lotteries, Mega Millions and Powerball.

Congratulation to the winner/s
Hopefully this JP was won by an LP member for a change. Congrats to the winner.
Congratulations to the Winner spend wisely
Congratulations to the winner!!
I've called most of the people I know that live in the Severn area, so far no winners....
I was hoping it would be someone I know.
Maybe it WAS someone you know.Maybe they don't want to tell anyone, including YOU.
We all have a standing pack...we'll share and claim anonymously.
My friends and family would not lie to me about a jackpot win.
We've all shared in financial endeavors frequently in the past and present.
Congrats to the winner in my state of Maryland!!
Too bad it wasn't me though.
Does anyone know if it was a QP? Or did the winner pick/play these numbers?
Thats a huge win, congrats
189 million dollars can change anyones attitude towards sharing with anyone else.Just sayin'.
Funny that MD won because everyone said their gonna stop playing MM when it changes.http://mdlottery.com/mega-millions-changes-coming-soon/
The Baltimore Sun said the numbers where chosen by the winner! Finally, not a quick-pick and breaking that streak. When I saw those numbers, I knew someone had won, ages and birthdays probably.
I know how you feel
Some of my relatives think the same way even though they tell me they don't buy lottery tickets. Fact is I just had to tell one of the nephews to go to hell cause he was thinking the same way about my savings.
Flew into BWI yesterday and bought a ticket near Arundel mills which is unfortunately just a few miles from Severn.
I initially got somewhat curious when the radio station mentioned the winning ticket was purchased in Maryland and when I heard somewhere in Arundel County that had my full attention...until they said Severn.
Oh well, my 1 ticket came close location wise.
SHOO ! Not me agin.
Amo haffa keep playin' doe.
If I eva wins me a lotto, amo stop playin'
Den, I movs to Califownya.
Congratulations to that person. I am glad the Maryland Lottery is not sucking for some residents.
This is true, but I have faith in my friends and relatives, and believe they are not holding out.
We have shared in a large amount of this year, so, I think the idea of them changing their attitude towards this jackpot, would not be anything to be concerned about.
Cletu$,I hope you will be about to have as much trust of your family and friends when your turn comes around.
Oh,my....
Yeah Congrats, and to think I was told that Maryland did not have serious lottery players.Well Bang goes that theory.

I am sick of being loser.
ohhh so close....
wow..you will have a tell all book to write if you win the JP someday.
No, from just what I've read here at LP I know I'm not the only one with relatives that think that way.
Congrats to the winner(s) from Maryland.
I guess we'll be watching to see how MM will do. Everyone said they'd not play PB when they doubled the price, but I think that feeling has gone away for most. I still play less tickets for PB, but spending the same. Not so sure yet with MM. I'm not playing for a few dollars win.
The only family I have left is my wife & daughter. My friends buy their tickets & I buy mine. That way we don't play the "I'll sue you" blues.
Everybody buying their own tickets is the best way to go even among family members, that way you don't a bunch of calls from relatives every time someone in your area wins a sizable amount of money.
Congrats to the lucky winners
Congrats to the winner.
Oh Jill, I wish you had won.
I hear you Winner.
I feel the same way.
Too Funny!
As a Marylander and Resident of Montgomery County I am just always excited and happy for anyone that Wins in my State. No matter where they live. And no doubt they will choose to remain annonymous as we do have that option. Furthermore, with the Unemployment rate and Joblessness here in Maryland, I hope the Winner is someone that "really needs the cash"
Hi "Kapla" That was exactly my same question because it is very rare for "quik pick" to Win here in Maryland even though it has on occassion happened. It's the "exception" rather than the "rule" I always use my own number series when I play...never a"quik pick".
The Baltimore Sun stated that the numbers were chosen by the winner!
Hi Golfer- it would have been nice but oh well! A dollar and a dream
This is indeed a huge jackpot prize! Congratulations to all the winners. I wonder if they already have a plan with their winnings? Investing is one, however I hope they can find a good investment.
