Georgia Lottery daily numbers games players will get extra opportunities to play every day starting Sunday.

Beginning on Feb. 12, the Georgia Lottery is adding an additional Cash 3 drawing late at night, and an extra Cash 4 drawing in the early evening.  The new drawings mean that a total of three Cash 3 and Cash 4 drawings will be held every day, at the same times.

The current drawing schedule is a bit odd, with Cash 3 and Cash 4 both holding a midday drawing at 12:29 p.m., but then different times for their evening drawings, with the Cash 3 evening drawing held at 6:59 p.m. and Cash 4 at 11:34 p.m.

The new schedule adds a Cash 3 drawing at 11:34 p.m. and a Cash 4 drawing at 6:59 p.m., so that each of the three draw times will feature drawings for both games.

It has been 16 years since a drawing has been added to either game. On Feb. 5, 2001, the Georgia Lottery added midday drawings to the Cash 4 game.

Aside from the new drawings, the other aspects of the games remain unchanged.

Good Luck GA Players!

So they will have three drawings for cash 3 and cash 4. Midday, evening and late night. Is this a good thing? I didn't like when florida added midday drawings in 2008. Hope they don't add late night like Georgia. However, I do like the new cash4life game they're including stating feb 17.

Not excited about it at all.  If Georgia didn't cheat so much it might be one thing, but the things we see going on I don't know who would be happy about this.  Another money grab from Georgia Lottery.

"Totally Greedy!" Uncalled for and not necessary either. Why have so many draws the same game multiple times throughout the day?

Ohio will probably follow this, as Georgia and Ohio are biggest lottery players states?

But you never know. I hope not for my sake. I just like the evening draws myself.

Just don't play your numbers in every drawing Johnnyj1.  TN. has 3 drawings (morning, midday, and evening) I only play the evening now since they started this.   Now if my numbers come in the morning or midday I just say they wasn't my numbers lol.  It just another way for the lottery to get more money.  But they wont get all mind lmbo.

What are your thoughts on the added drawings per day?  Do you think it will be easier to hit a number now or not?  I, for one, am having a hard time with picking from the two draws, I don't see how adding another drawing will help my odds.  I also heard that the payouts will be less.

The greed of the lottery officials know no bounds. Not a good idea for the poor.

What other State has 3 Drawings Per Day? Tennessee!

rcbbuckeye's avatarrcbbuckeye

Texas started this a few years ago when they introduced All or Nothing with 4 draws a day. Then they went to 4 draws a day with Pick 3 and Daily 4. It's simply a way to bring in more money. They want people to think if they play 4 times a day, they'll win more money. Yes, you have a "chance" to win more often, but the reality is you will lose more often.

Look, this ties in with the other article about millennials not playing lotteries and state lotteries are concerned. This is a way to increase revenue, along with introducing new games that are $2 a ticket. These new games are tricky. All or Nothing gives you 2 ways to win, so it looks great, until you play it. Then it becomes another lottery game that is not what it seems. Texas Triple Chance is a $2 game that gives you 3 chances to win!!! Looks like an easy win, until you play for a month.

Don't fall into the trap of playing every draw. Play within your means.

I think Tennessee is the only state that have 3 draws.  Morning-Midday-Evening

and Texas with 4 drawings Morning-Day-Evening-Night

LottoYear

In 2002, Texas went from one PICK 3 drawing to two.  Players were so upset that they said they would cut their spending and they did.  Daily revenue dropped slightly.

Fifteen years later, the revenue from four PICK 3 drawings in 2017 is only slightly more than one PICK 3 drawing in 2002!  Why?  Games with fixed payouts depend on a small number of hardcore players.   No rising jackpot means no media coverage, which means no advertising to occasional players and no bump in revenues.  Also, PICK 3 players are getting older and not being replaced with enough new players.

I'm curious.  Why even play the games?  The odds and the fixed jackpots tell you how horrible the games are.  Of course, I couldn't find the odds on Texas' lottery site, but I found them elsewhere. The less people play these games, the sooner they go away.

Texas All or Nothing ($2) $250,000 Jackpot Odds 2,704,156 to 1

Texas Triple Chance ($2) $100,000 Jackpot Odds 1,691,064 to 1

Instead put $2 on the Daily 4 straight, odds 10,000 to 1 for a possible $10,000 (2 x $5000).  Or play Texas 2 Step which just had a jackpot of $1.4m, jp starts at $225,000, and odds are 1,832,600 to 1.

The odds for the Powerball third prize of $50,000 is 1 in 913,129.  With Power Play ($3 total) can win $100,000 to $250,000 plus have a shot at $2m and a $40m plus jackpot.

You couldn't find the odds on Texas lottery website???

Geez, it's not hard to find. You click on the game, then click on "how to play".

LOL.

Thanks.  Now I'm really confused why people play those awful games.  I didn't realize that they had easy access to the odds.

I will finally be able to stop playing so many numbers.  I usually play several numbers midday and evening cash 3 and 4. Now I will cut it to 1 number and play all games.  This way I will save money but increase my odds.  The key is not to play so many numbers and just put the money on 1 number which I have been telling myself to do all the time.  Now I have more of an incentive to do it.

Glad the Georgia Lottery used a saying we used in the United States Army:  KISS.

Wish that acronym would apply to the civilian world; especially health care!
