BUCHANAN, Mich. — A two-member group noticed that the Fast Cash progressive jackpot had reached a record-breaking $4.14 million in Michigan, and their discerning eye led them straight to a record win.
A lottery playing duo won a $4.14 million Fast Cash jackpot, the game's biggest prize ever awarded in the state of Michigan.
One member of the Berrien County 126 Lottery Club had their eye on the Fast Cash progressive jackpot and knew they had to at least see what they could win.
"I bought several Fast Cash tickets that night because the jackpot was so high," the group member told the Michigan Lottery.
They purchased their Detroit Lions Rush for Riches" Fast Cash tickets at the American Legion Post 51 on East Front Street in Buchanan, about 70 miles southwest of Kalamazoo.
"I looked this ticket over and thought it was a $50 winner, but I scanned it to double check," the winner continued. "I got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office, so I scanned it on the Michigan Lottery app. I started shaking when $4.14 million came up on my phone screen!"
The pair of winners had to make a trip to Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim their coveted prize, which bowled over the previous record of $2.39 million. That jackpot was won by one Shiawassee County man in March 2025.
In total, their record-setting win came to $4,149,571. With their winnings, the players said plan on building a house, taking a trip to Disney, and saving the rest.
"Winning this kind of money is life-changing," the winner added.
The Michigan Lottery's Fast Cash games are available from terminals at Lottery retailers, with ticket prices ranging from $2 up to $30 per play.
