Raking in more dough than just one cheesy pizza slice

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Michigan woman grabbed a slice of pizza and set a new Club Keno The Jack record when she won an $822,159 jackpot with a single ticket.
It takes one to win — one Michigan lottery player was caught by surprise when her lunch break routine yielded a record-setting $822,159 The Jack prize.
Sue Strong, 65, didn't expect that her pizza stop would yield more than a cheesy slice of pie, rather she'd be raking in the dough instead.
She visited Party Palace Liquor Inc on Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township during her lunch break and purchased a Club Keno ticket with The Jack option.
"I regularly play Club Keno, and I always add The Jack to my ticket," Strong told the Michigan Lottery. "I went out and bought a Club Keno ticket and pizza on my lunch break and then watched the drawings on my phone while I ate."
The Jack is a $1 Club Keno add-on that gives players a chance to win the progressive jackpot or other prizes with Easy Pick (Quick Pick) numbers printed on the ticket. Her ticket held the numbers 10, 26, 33, 50, 56, 58, 60, 67, and 70 and matched nine of the 20 numbers drawn in draw 2569809, awarding her a record-breaking prize of more than $822,000.
"When I saw all my The Jack numbers come in and the jackpot reset to $10,000, I was shocked!" Strong recalled in a press release. "It was nerve wracking and exciting, and to be honest, I've hardly slept since!"
The lucky winner visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her winnings, which she said will pay bills, go into savings, and be shared with family.
The previous record for the largest Club Keno The Jack prize was $677,141, won by a ticket purchased at JP's Trolley Stop on Pelham Road in Taylor in March 2025.
Club Keno drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Tickets are available at Lottery retailers across the state.

I'm sure I'm not alone with this thought. When is someone in LP going to have a fluke of luck, be @ the right place/right time and hit the big one!
Naturally was thinking time to retire with her big win. Some will say 'it wasn't that much'; well a heck of a lot more than she had prior to buying the ticket.

Hahaha that's a good one, sometimes I have felt that way too.
Where I live one can claim the win anonymously, but then there have been times that I have thought, if I win, I would claim it publicly and move to another state, just to rub it in on the haters, but again that would not be a wise move to make and I would definitely not do that.
However, the thought is so satisfying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
