And three days left to claim a $50,000 Powerball prize

Whoever has won a $5.9 million Pick 6 New Jersey Lottery jackpot still hasn't come forward to claim their big win, and time is running out.

The ticketholder for a $5.9 million Pick 6 jackpot has mere weeks to present it to New Jersey Lottery officials before it goes unclaimed for good.

The New Jersey Lottery has been looking for the winner for over a week now, but given how players in the Garden State have one full year to claim lottery winnings, it might not be looking too hopeful.

The Pick 6 winning ticket was sold on May 22, 2025 at Eisenhower Exxon on Eaglerock Avenue in Roseland for that evening's draw, and it matched all six winning numbers to hit the jackpot.

Those winning numbers are 20, 21, 30, 31, 42, and 44. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot in Pick 6 are 1 in 9,366,819.

If the winner does not come forward to validate the ticket by May 22, 2026, the prize will expire. State law dictates that a minimum of 30 percent of the amount must return to the state as revenue, but the New Jersey Lottery will usually return the "vast majority of those dollars" to the state and keep "far less than 10 percent" to fund special prizes and promotions. Whatever is left over will go into Lottery reserves to either fund additional prizes for a particular game or to fund special promotional initiatives, according to the Lottery.

Additionally, while three weeks remain for the $5.9 million Pick 6 jackpot, just two days remain to claim a $50,000 Powerball prize. The ticket for that prize will expire on May 3, 2026, and it was purchased at D'Latinos Beauty Supply on Bergenline Avenue in West New York for the drawing on May 3, 2025.

The Pick 6 jackpot currently stands at $4.1 million for the next drawing on Saturday, May 2. Drawings take place Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10:57 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2. A courier service offers online purchases for NJ Lottery games with a service fee.

All Pick 6 winning numbers, prizes, and odds can be found on Lottery Post's New Jersey Lottery Results page right after each drawing.

We already know that the lottery exists solely for the benefit of the state, but do they have to be even more ridiculous about it and purposely give all the unclaimed prize money to the state?

Ticket expires May 22 at the Eisenhower Exxon in Roseland, Essex County - winning numbers 20-21-30-31-42-44 from that May 22, 2025, drawing. There's also a $50k Powerball from the same day unclaimed at D'Latinos in West New York, so double the urgency for NJ players to dig out old tickets. Hate seeing these roll back into the prize pool, especially with the app making checks so easy now.
