Ex-girlfriend rescinds statements about stolen $12,000

Charges against the record-breaking $167 million Powerball lottery winner were dropped earlier this week after court testimony absolved him from the accusations related to an alleged burglary.
All charges related to an alleged break-in against $167 million Powerball jackpot winner Shannon James Farthing, 51, were dismissed after it was revealed in court a miscommunication led to his arrest.
In March, Farthing was arrested a third time since he scooped a $167 million Powerball jackpot after he got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend, Jacqueline Ann Fightmaster, 43, at Red Mile Gaming and Racing in Lexington and entered her residence that evening, where he had been staying.
The arrest warrant stated that Farthing was captured on surveillance footage entering through a side door. Fightmaster's security system was triggered, and police were called to the scene.
Fightmaster watched him go inside the building through her camera feed and recalled hearing a "loud noise" that sounded as though the door had been "busted open." She returned home, Farthing nowhere to be found, and told police that an amount of $12,000 she stored in her back bedroom was missing.
Authorities found Farthing later that night back at the casino. They couldn't locate the missing money, but they did find marijuana in his car. They arrested him "without incident" and charged him with one count of Burglary in the 2nd Degree and one charge of Possession of Marijuana.
However, his charges were dropped after Fightmaster's testimony altered the story.
The date for Farthing's preliminary court hearing, which was originally scheduled for April 27, was pushed back to May 11 after he experienced a jet ski accident and was placed in a medical coma due to his injuries.
On Monday, Fightmaster revealed to police detectives that she had later found the money in a Gucci shoe box.
She admitted that she misplaced the money and had known Farthing did not steal it when police were at her home. She testified that she was trying to get in touch with detectives after the fact to clear everything up.
"Everything happened so fast," Fightmaster explained. "I just went with it. I mean, there were guns in my house, and there were about 20 police officers in the home."
All of Farthing's charges related to the case were dismissed.
Farthing is still set to be arraigned at the end of May, as he was served a criminal summons last Monday for possessing anabolic steroids, a controlled substance.

I never believed that Mr. Farthing was guilty of what he was accused of.
I've always been a good judge of character.
That's why my first post in the previous thread about him, I stated, "There is more to this story".
He doesn't look like a guy who would do something that stupid.
In this country today, whenever a woman accuses a man of something, society automatically believes her and that the man is guilty of whatever she accuses him of.
With many men being falsely accused of victimizing women, it's easy for people to jump to conclusions based on what a woman says.
* You may be onto something there. Recall that decades in the past, having a tattoo was immediately associated with bad traits, now it's all over the place on folks both good and bad. One can't tell the difference.

Well, as a man whose entire family goes back for generations in Kentucky, you have no idea how the good ol' boy network operates. Ex-girlfriend (you may recall, she was charged in the assault at St. Pete Beach, too) got her money back. Doubled. And a matching purse for her shoes. Judge got an all-expenses paid golf vacation at The Greenbrier. I'm a pretty good judge of character myself.

You can't be very confident if you won't even bet the cost of a MM ticket.

It didn't make sense that somebody who took home about $45 million would break into a house just to steal 12k, but the guy seems to have done a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense. And even if you have $45 million if you break into a house for other reasons you might as well grab the 12k if you happen to stumble across it. We'll probably never know the full story of what really happened this time around but I'd be comfortable betting a lot more than the cost of even a $50 lottery ticket that we haven't heard the end of this guy's stories of brushes with the law.

People tend to jump to conclusions based on initial reports and far less than a whole story regardless of the source. If you could pull your head out of your misogynistic ass maybe you'd get a better glimpse of a fuller, and more realistic, story.

Speaking of the Maury show, why do you think the majority of episodes about cheating are about MEN accused of cheating, and not women???
That's because the viewers prefer to see women as victims and demonize men.
Even after the DNA test proves that the man she was "1000% sure" of is NOT the father, when she runs offstage and cries on the couch, Maury treats her like a victim instead of holding her accountable for falsely accusing the man.
That, KY Floyd, sells because Americans find that view more palatable.
Always believe the woman when she accuses a man.
We'll probably never know the full story of what really happened this time around but I'd be comfortable betting a lot more than the cost of even a $50 lottery ticket that we haven't heard the end of this guy's stories of brushes with the law.
Not as long as he loves unscrupulous women. They will keep getting him in trouble and he'll get the blame.
