Dvdiva: You must have missed it, because it is in one of the LP news stories, and has Buddy R. from Maryland (MM President) stating that there will definitely be changes. He doesn't say what those changes will be.

Can someone post who said anything will change. I just went over the news releases and didn't see anyting regarding any changes. It's nice that the price won't change but I'm beginning to doubt they are serious about changing the game matrix.

I don't see them making major changes in the game's structure. Increasing the overall odds will cause a disproportionate loss in the game's aggregate revenues as players migrate to their border states for PowerBall tickets.More likely, in my opinion, would be the introduction of the Megaplier feature in order to increase sales.

Yeah if Mega were a 6 +1 game with the same numbers it would be slightly more than 1 billion to one. Rather a dramatic change. I'm hoping for something between 160-190 million.

True, but they showed Mega Millions having 6 balls straight representing numbers. They should have created a picture just like they did for Super Lotto, which is 5 numbers + 1 number.0 0 0 0 0 + 0 would've been more accurate.

I saw the same report as Cashonly. http://www.lottoreport.com/2updates.htmI have no idea how accurate it is though. I personally am not holding my breath that they will have the foresight to change the game until at least a year of poor sales due to low jackpots.

I will wait until I see what changes are made however if they raise the odds I think for myself I will stop playing. I win little as it is and do not play when it gets high because of the feeding frenzy and media coverage so a change in that direction will save me a few dollars. good luck to all

I think CA demanded some changes to insure big jackpots - since New York and Texas have come on board we have not seen very many really big ones. I think it will be a matrix change to make the odds longer.

Payouts will differ in CA than in the rest of the country. CA law requires that all lottery payouts be pari-mutuel. It may be that either MegaMillions simply changes their payout format to all pari-mutuel or that CA piggybacks MegaMillions numbers to operate an independent lottery with a pari-mutuel payout.

Wonder if they're going to expand the playing field to 5 out of 80, and for the mega ball 1 out of 80 or something equally lame????? Sure it drives the jackpots up, but discourages small players like myself who don't win anything small to take my few $$$$ elsewhere to other states lotteries.
