This is a good story. I complete agree that some people would never date you when they know that you are broke, but when find out that you hhave money, they pretend like they love you, but only for the money.

Although I don't advocate the lying part, I really think this man did the right thing by seeing if this Lady really loved him for himself, rather than other reasons. The physical and mental aspect of a divorce or a break-up with the opposite is the same for a man, as it is for a woman, and HE' really played the romance out, until he realized that it was for real. Great job...

This is one of the better tales I've heard about the Lottery.

I think if she didn't know she had a feeling. Women are really good at telling when your hiding something...(At least in my experience)..LOL .............. But seriously she was complaining about him spending 20 pounds (what $40?) on a meal? Maybe it's just cause I'm usually broke but that is pretty pricey in my book....... Actually, it is not that rare at all! My Uncle, who is now 76 years old married my Aunt in March 1978 and she is now 61 years old, so they have been married 31 years now. My Aunt is the one who makes the money too! My Uncle retired at 59 and just get a small pension along with social security.

My other Uncle who I'm not that close with, is 79 years old and his wife is 59 years old, that's a 20 year age difference and neither one make a lot of money.

I once loved a man 20 years older than me....and he didn't have any money at all....neither one of us did. I never expected to fall for him...so yes, it can happen. Only he turned out to be just another cheating jerk like the men half his age that I should have been dating instead.
