Georgetown, Kentucky is in the heart of horse country and after the lottery was notified by a lawyer that his firm was representing the winner, there was speculation that the winner might be in this country illegally. However today the winner finally went to lottery headquarters to claim his prize and told a pretty neat story about how he purchased the winning ticket.

I'll wait to give the details because Todd will probably post the entire story later.

Kentucky!? again?! that really fries my chicken!

No Store that I ever played in has sold a big winner that I know of except that I visited a few after they sold winners. I used to play at Broadway Boys but they are now a ELE7VEN and I haven't been there yet. It would be handy to know how many Stores there are and what their sales volume is i.e. to calculate the odds of yours having the winner.

It's nice to see someone out in the boonies win for a change. Sometimes it seems like you have to live in a big city in a big state to hit the jackpot. This just goes to show that it can happen and does happen. Now if it would just happen in the backwoods of East TN...

Kentucky lottery officials have identified the store that sold the state's largest Powerball jackpot winning ticket over the weekend, but no one has claimed the prize as of Monday morning.

ProTravel Marathon, located at 102 Success Drive in Georgetown, sold the only winning jackpot ticket for Saturday's drawing, Kentucky's first since December 2007, when a Bullitt County man claimed a $33.6 million prize.
