So the State of Arkansas was paying for the training to get him BACK up to CPA status... they hired him w/o certification? and his skills had slipped so far as to render him unable to either #1 remember GAAP (sheesh, I'm not a CPA and I know what GAAP standards are for a public set of financial reports.) OR #2 remember how to use the yellow pages/google search for CPA AUDIT FIRM or some such search term? OR #3 remember how to hit the intercom button (do they still have intercom buttons?) to tell... Wow, sounds like they had a 3 ring circus for a lottery commission over there.

I'd still trade a dozen Dragon Ladies for the guy who resigned though.

I bet Slick Willy Clinton has better management for his Presidential Library and Massage Parlor than they did though.

Looks like there are more than a few problems with Arkansas Lottery, they need to find leadership, as well as someone with innovative ideas, Good Luck with that.

The top fiscal officer for the Arkansas lottery, who was criticized by some lawmakers and lottery commissioners following an important audit, has resigned.

A resignation letter from lottery controller Philip Miley says he and his wife have decided to return home. Miley was controller for Regional Health Care Holding Inc., a subsidiary of St. Bernard's Health Care of Jonesboro, from 1997 to 2008.

Miley, who has worked for the lottery since July 2009, did not return messages seeking comment.... [ More ]
