The cause of this problem definitely needs to be made public. At least it was not happening on a draw date for the two big games, MM PB.

It's an unlucky day for the California Lottery.

A computer glitch on Monday shut down lottery terminals around the state, preventing players from getting numbers for Powerball and other games. Only the scratch-off tickets were still being sold.

Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso says there was a loss of signal that prevented the terminals from connecting to the system that generates the numbers.

Traverso says about 350 out of 22,000 stores were affected, some for as long as five hours, but... [ More ]
