C'MON PEOPLE!!!. Enough of this fuss over Illinois. Illinois is a 3rd world country located in the U.S. of A. They conduct their affairs as such. Unfortunately, in the U.S. of A. you sometimes have to go to jail. SOMEBODY PLEASE REMIND ILLINOIS OFFICIALS THAT ILLINOIS IS ACTUALLY LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES. They seem to forget that part sometimes.

I'm not sure I understand all of this article, but I do remember when Illinois couldn't or wouldn't pay any winners who won above such-and-such a prize. And now, another year of the same thing?

What a cluster ____. From what I can tell, everything is going to come down to whether or not a contractual agreement takes precedence over a state law

Lottery players are going to get stiffed again. If they passed a law last year in order to pay winners, why not be proactive and extend the law another fiscal year since the impasse has continued? Why tick winners off and invite another round of lawsuits

Lottery head resigns, another possible winner payout shutdown looms

A state lawmaker is calling for an investigation of the Illinois Lottery after a recent audit revealed it had violated the state finance law.

The audit found that the Lottery circumvented the state's budget impasse by prepaying $20 million to take part in future multi-state lottery games, such as Powerball and Mega Millions.
