All 50 states should've ....anonymous .....we know there's

about 5 states who already has it anonymous ( Delaware , Kansas , North Dakota ,

Ohio and South Carolina ) , you might want to research Maryland , supposedly

Even an LLC the state still knows who rightfully owns the ticket, correct Todd? The IRS definitely knows they will get their money.

Not to sound political because I could care less for the Orangeman, but maybe he will reign in the IRS. Was glad he did for mandatory health insurance that the IRS can no longer fine you if you don't have ACA or private insurance. In Calif, it takes 60 days to receive the money so he has plenty of time to set up a will trust and consult with a financial adviser. The media got his info because California Lottery released it as required by state law.

The Lawyer: to handle the trusts, LLC., to keep your name out of the media, and . . . ?

The Financial Adviser: to make smart investments. Buy the yacht, the big house, and garage fillers: Porsche, Lambo, and motorcycles: H-D, whatever.

And of course, no more debt.

You don't know what they know. The California Lottery hasn't issued a statement saying that Jack Freney is from California. He could have had an attorney, an LLC, and who knows what else to shield his actual address. Eddie Tipton was a lottery employee, of course he was going to be scrutinized harder. These two situations have nothing to do with one another.

Iowa and California are different states with different laws and lottery policies.

The lottery knows for sure that he is from California. State lotteries may respect wishes of winners not to release info to the public, but they absolutely require full knowledge of who the winner is and where they're from in order to claim the prize. That's how the Iowa Lottery prevented Eddie Tipton from claiming the $16 million jackpot he rigged, and eventually led to his arrest and conviction.

Lottery winners don t need to leave town, just don t answer the door or telephone. They can go out at night without worrying about the press, although the neighbors might be a problem. If you really want to leave you can live on your credit cards and/or stay with a relative.

I think a generic press conference is best. Tell them you are going to travel and buy a new house. Change your look so strangers won t recognize you on the street, but don t look crazy. You can wear a hat, glasses or... [ More ]

So, if you dont have enough to go on the lam for a couple of months until your check is ready, what do you do? Claim your prize, go to your bank, show them the papers, take out a loan and then leave town??

I hate when the press shows up and takes photos of where people live. One young woman in Penn won I think $60 million. She wisely disappeared for a couple of months but the press turned up, took photos of the outside of her apt, and spoke to her neighbors, too.

The Las Vegas media is reporting that the guy is a Californian, but I can't find any proof that he is. California lottery always names the city a winner lives in, but no city is given for Jack Freney. A California man won $191 million dollars off a Mega Millions lottery ticket he bought in Primm, officials with California Lottery announced Friday.

Jack Freney bought the ticket at Primm Valley Lotto, a lottery retailer located at 31900 S. Las Vegas Blvd., which is a few feet west of the Nevada-California stateline and technically in California.
