Great point there. I know it riles them up with Indian Casinos there that they cannot control on sovereign land. Have to smile the one right on I-65 plain as day. Don't think for a minute that those in control don't frequent them or cross state lines to play lotteries in their smarter than Alabama mentalities. Like the old saying do as I say, not as I do

They just didn't allow you to have a lottery and nothing to do but control.

Better still, the legislators should go ahead and create a lottery. They could even make it voluntary, so the people in favor of a lottery can play if the want to, and the people opposed to a lottery can not play if they want to.

Saturday will mark 20 years since the people of Alabama voted against allowing a lottery.

This is something that citizens have asked us for by their actions, said Sen. Linda Coleman-Madison (D- Birmingham). They're telling us if we can't get it here, we'll go someplace else to get it.

Coleman-Madison is among many legislators who say it's time to let the people vote again. The details of that lottery proposal haven't been as easy for legislators to agree on.
