... If you retire from a certain profession, you fill that void with some other activity totally unrelated to your past career. Take up gardening, bird watching, fishing, or open up a pizza joint for goodness sake. This always looking back at your career getting somehow involved is what can sometimes get you into trouble. Saying l didn't know this or that won't cut it as an excuse- you were the Sheriff for crying out loud. Sorry, but you stepped in it Chody.

Why can't these adult winners be satisfied with retiring. There are skilled workers who require a work income to live who could have worked the jobs he has held. Lottery winners of net $5+ million should be fine working the new part-time job investing their money, and creating an enjoyable part-time hobby. Now he's going to experience grief and money loss at something he and the others involved probably didn't maliciously do.

I don't know anything other than what I've read in this article; certainly there is enough in it for readers to argue one position or another either in support of the prosecution or in support that he is being persecuted. The adage that most likely applies, however, is when you mix politics with anything, you get politics. Truth, justice, and the American way certainly has gone off the rails in so many ways.
