One retailer's daily, weekly, and monthly sales aren't even in the same ball park with the potential volume Online sales have. But I suppose if someone wants to safely play huge odds jackpot games throughout the world, The Lotter is what they are looking for.

What value does the Texas Lottery gain if many of their players are spending their lottery dollars anywhere but Texas

Wouldn't make more sense to have their own Online sales without the middle man like many other state lotteries do?

All those existing retailers are middlemen already, and a sold ticket is a sold ticket. Having their own online sales would save the lottery the commission, but despite selling online the lotter is just one more retailer.

I though CA wanted the middleman? all the retailer get commision from sale? We had a similar discussion in Sweden a few years ago, stores and reseller loosing money when all lottery sales went online.

Years ago I had some small winners from S. Lake Tahoe, CA and sent the lottery there a suggestion to let you type in the information vs handwritten for the claim form. Well their legal department sent a nine page or so form that I would not attempt to get financial monies from my suggestion, sign and return. I did but thought w-f

You assumed correctly Jeff. The CA lottery doesn't want a middleman anywhere between your dollars their coffers. Sad really, considering that there has to be many folk who love to play the game, but are either physically handicapped or they just don't want to be standing in line exposing themselves to Covid who knows what else.

Courier service for the lottery in CA, can't see that ever happening. Disneyland would sooner have a strip club for that to happen. The CA lottery loves to brag about having over 20,000 locations vending machines out there. Interpret that for what it's worth.

Not exactly sure when the KY Lottery Fun Club first offered the cell phone app, but I used it over two years ago. Won $144 playing Keno waiting to see my Doctor; said my blood pressure was up. Don't know of any state selling daily number games Online so if the do, the KY Lottery might start a trend.

2017 I won $1.152 on Estonia Viking Lotto, i recieved my winnings in multiple small deposits in my bank account.

It's interestinf that Texas allow this, The Point of using The Lotter is if you are located in another country/state not inside a state. I'm sure it will eventually open for states offering tickets online for their own lotteries. Makes no sense otherwise.

Typically a person cant buy tix online, except now thru TheLotter.

Several years ago some state legislators wanted to get rid of Texas Lottery. One of them (cant recall his name) was from Southlake, which is a very affluent city. The legislature is the reason we cant get casinos in the state. When old Reunion Arena in Dallas closed there was talk of opening a casino there. They shot that down. I guess they would rather people go to OK or LA.

I have been using the lotter for a while now and never had any problems. Unfortunately for me, I have only had one small win which was deposited into my online account. I do love that you get your ticket on your phone and they notify you if you win. I was known for forgetting to check my paper tickets well after the numbers were called and thats only if I hadn't already lost the ticket

1000% with you on this. Don't think the current politicians/religious leaders there would go for it. Case in point, pick four is offered four times/day with the exception of Sundays....go figure.

Reminds me of my home state of Massachusetts. Still set in their Puritanical roots; bars close @ 0100 and the lottery is attempting to get on-line sales or @ least through a smart phone. Good luck with that.

Yet here I am in what I don't consider a progressive state of KY and we have on-line sales... [ More ]
