People who are smart enough to use numbers that give them a better chance of having the jackpot all to themselves. That said, I think there's a very good chance it wa a QP because not many players would choose those numbers.

What really surprises me is that there were 13 5+0 winners. That's not wildly unlikely, but it's a lot more than the most likely random result for the roughly 114 million tickets that were sold. I'm wondering if it's an even less like... [ More ]

I rarely win anything in these terrible-odds drawings, but amusingly I have won 3 draws in a row. That said, I'm sad to see Powerball fall and will probably have to wait a year again to see it rise.

MM and PB the net payout is that the true amount a winner would receive?

After they click whichever applies to them single, married jointly, etc .

The record MM cash jackpot in October 2018 was $877 million. 4 days later somebody won a $396 million PB jackpot. I know the PB jackpot didn't double from the previous drawing, so the total available cash before MM got hit had to be around $1.1 billion or so.

During the run up to PB's record on January 13, 2016 MM was won at an advertised jackpot of $165 million on 1/8, when PB was still a bit under $900 million. If MM had rolled the total cash would have been a little over a billion (983 + 1... [ More ]

I won $12 on Powerball too. Ive bought 2 more Powerball PowerPlay, 2 Megamillions Megaplier, and 2 Louisiana Lotto which is also at a record high of $2.375million. Any of those jackpots would be great.

Doesn't apply to your state, but spending the extra dollar for those 10 or so folks would have gained them another million. Not that I hang around the store all day, but have noticed folks say give me MM or PB sans 'plier option...maybe folks don't know/care about it??

I wonder what the record is for fewest second and third prizes on a Jackpot of over $600,000,000? I don't know but I am sure Mega Millions holds that record.

Also, Is this the first time players have a shot at over a Billion dollars in cash in the unlikely event that they hit both jackpots

I recon that quite a few folks would use the same numbers one for one drawing in the drawing that's yet to be won. Which would result in multiple winners.
