I imagine what you meant to say was that the winning ticket was SOLD from a small town in Maryland. Seeing as no one has come forward (and if they did I imagine they would do so anonymously) we don't yet know where the winner actually lives.

Jack Coburn, who has been the mayor of Lonaconing for 25 years, said Thursday he was told who the winners are through acquaintances but would not reveal their names, out of privacy and respect. He said he doesn t know if the couple who he said are longtime residents of the town will reveal their identities.

Huge jackpots isn't a determining factor as to how many winners there should be, granted it would be nice if 4 or 5 winning tickets were sold. In the past, large pools have been the recipient of solo ticket winners.

Over the last two weeks I spent around $50 hoping to win either jackpot because when the pots went over $500 million, I thought there was a much better chance of a winning ticket being sold than when the first 29 jackpots created sales under 25 million. Last night the ticket sales were only 114,280,399 on the advertised $730 million jackpot and not exactly the expected buying frenzy.

I matched 2 numbers for nothing on the first ticket I got. In a stupid burst of hope I bought a second ticket which matched 1 number for nothing.

The second prize in Michigan was sold 10 miles away from another second prize that was won in the run-up to the 1.5 billion Jackpot in 2016.

Those, so far, are the only big PowerBall prizes in Upper Michigan since they started selling PB here 11 years ago.

One Powerball lottery ticket sold in Maryland won the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history on Wednesday night.

The lucky numbers for the $731.1 million jackpot were 40, 53, 60, 68, and 69, with Powerball number 22. The Power Play multiplier was 3. The top prize was adjusted upwards from the initial estimate of $730 million after all proceeds were counted Wednesday night.
