How can you purchase lottery tickets on-line?

I thought if was cash only ..

If I try using my debit card to purchase tickets at a retailer..they say that it's cash only for the lottery.

And yet..I'm always reading about on-line ticket purchases. I just don't get it..

Big Congrats to this Michigan lottery player! I SO WISH my state would implement online ticket sales. My car just broke down, possibly for the last time. It's only a 15 minute walk to the little store but I have a troubled ankle right now. Even when my car was running fine, I was wishing for online ticket purchasing. It would just be so convenient.

In Kentucky, players create an account with the lottery and can either purchase an I-Gift from a retailer or deposit money from their debit or credit card. I have a debit card just for Online purchases and any lottery winnings are deposited into that account.

We don't get paper lottery tickets but email conformation of all purchases and the player accounts shows all the transactions. Never had an Online win over $600 so I don't know that process but the withdrawals usually are deposited into... [ More ]

I would think the same thing. We don't have online sales in my state and I have wondered how that works. If someone buys a ticket online, do they get a copy of the actual numbers that were on the ticket? If so, they can be checked.

I've gotten the emails and phone calls about the lottery jackpot I've supposedly won and need to pay taxes and fees to receive it. They get hung up on or deleted.

The Michigan Lottery always was progressive by offering the games players wanted and making it easier to play them. While other states are trying to stop illegal gambling, states like Michigan are making it legal and benefiting from the profits.

I'd be like in this day of scams that this was a fake email from the Lottery!

Perfect timing for the big win. It doesn't get any better than that!

So last week tried to use on credit card @ the machine...said declined. Same credit card that is put in to play on-line for. Tried to add funds---denied. A Michigan man from Wayne County had a little extra money to spend and now he has a lot more as he won a $5.42 million Lotto 47 jackpot after buying a lottery ticket online recently.

The winner matched all six numbers drawn 2, 5, 14, 30, 32, and 42 for the Sept. 28 drawing to win the grand prize.
