I stand correct on the prize money on the NJ pick-six, for having three numbers of the 6 numbers drawn. I was informed the intinal pay-out was $5.00, then decrease to $3.00...do I detect a trend

yes, they fixed it !!!! the same way they fixed the pick 6. years ago the cost of a ticket was $1.00, and the payout for having 3 numbers (50% of selected numbers) was a fixed amount, $3.00. they FIXED that by adding more numbers, doubling the cost of the ticket, and dropping the lowest payoff tier by a dollar.....what I can't understand is why don't the other gamblers ( who are singing praise to the lottery commission ) see this...you should be singing praise to Madison Ave for the slick/greasy... Why do number combinations sell out?

Number combinations for either Pick-3 or Pick-4 may sell out due to prize liability limits. Prize liability limits for Pick-3 and Pick-4 are set separately. If those limits are reached on a particular number combination for a particular draw, the number combination is considered sold out for that draw and is no longer available for purchase.

I fail to see how this will ultimately benefit the gambler....moreover its another money grab by the state. If you put lipstick and a dress on a pig, it's still a pig. 500.00 is a rip off amount. There are 1000 possible outcomes. 50% takeout will break you in the long run.

KY pays out $600 for pick 3. They had a feature called one off which we LOVED and they got rid of whereas you could still win top prize being one off. Say you had 879 and 979 came in, for the extra dollar you'd still win $600. FB message to me said they did away with it because it wasn't popular--doubt that

I suspect it will be rare to get sold out numbers. Today people learned to stay away from popular compilations, because they have more than average winners, so you win less than $500 (for a Pick 3 straight bet).

With the chance those numbers ill become more popular, but many people will keep NOT playing there, because they are now used to play something different .....

Maybe I am wrong .... would be nice to see if it is true ......

Not sure why you say so.

Today, sometimes players win more than $500 for a pick 3 straight bet, sometimes less than $500.

But when more people win, they make less than $500, When less people win, they make more than $500. So today, by design, more people win less than $500 and less people with $more than $500.The State pays always 50%.

Tomorrow the State will pay the same on average (still 50%), and everybody will get $500.

While the new fixed payment amounts are great, especially for popular number combinations like years such as 1950 which only paid about $744.50 for a straight fifty cents bet the last time in came out in New Jersey, the reality is that many other wins often paid better than the new fixed payments.

This week alone on November 8 both the New Jersey Lottery day and the evening Pick 4 numbers paid more than $6,800 for a $1 bet. But in the long run it is probably better to at least know in advanc... [ More ]

There is no mention of a liability cap.

Its nice know a ticket pays a fixed amount.

What about numbers getting sold out? No mention of that at all.

It does not make sense to me. but to be fair I am half retarderd. Or Maybe they NJ lottery heads have all gotten brain damage from sticking up those CCP Covid swab deep up their noses.

I was shocked to learn when visiting NJ from TX back in 2015 that my Pick 4 winning lottery ticket payout was $564 instead of $1200 in TX.

This is a welcome change.

Now if WA State could get Pick 4 and Pick 5 games, that would be great

Wow, I had no idea any state had Pick3/Pick4 players share prizes, glad they are

The New Jersey Lottery announced that they will start offering fixed prize amounts for Pick 3 and Pick 4, which will guarantee more winnings for multiple winning tickets.
