Setting off an alarm in the form of a notification to the lottery's security department seems like a good idea. Returning an immediate result to the terminal saying that the ticket hasn't been validated seems like an even better idea.

She didn't know that the store had security cameras??? Of course she knew!

She made a deal, but otherwise, it could have been life in prison.

The article doesn't mention if she's married or any family besides her father.

Former cashier caught stealing a scratch-off ticket worth $20,000

A Florida woman was convicted for altering lottery tickets and stealing ones she knew were winners, including a ticket worth $20,000.

A Florida Lottery retailer realized that something was amiss when they discovered micro-scratches present on $50 and $10 scratch-off tickets last June, putting an end to one of their employees' schemes.
