I get a kick out of the ones who couldn't wait to scratch off their free ticket thus didn't get counted. Were they still eligible for the 2nd chance drawing held right after.

The almost 1,400 people in that park now all have bragging rights.

I can picture them old and frail, telling their great, great, grand kids how they broke a world record

The story begins It was in the Summer of 2025, over 100 degrees outside .......

at the end of the event a lottery official collected all the rubbery gray scratch off shavings and compacted them into a giant ball, which set a new world record.

More than a thousand people showed up to smash previous record set in 2023

The Iowa Lottery landed itself a title in the Guinness World Records book on Thursday after totally obliterating a world record for most people scratching scratch-off tickets at once.

Lottery history was made at the Iowa State Fair this week after nearly 1,400 players showed up to help the Iowa Lottery break a world record for most people simultaneously scratching scratch-off tickets.
