Crazy to think this $80.4 million Lotto Max win from Dec 30 edges out that $75M Ontario solo winner from back in August as Canada's biggest payout ever. Factory workers splitting it like that after a combo play that netted them an extra $400k shows smart pooling pays off big time. Makes you wonder how many group plays like theirs are out there quietly building toward history.

What a great story, I'm so happy for them I was grinning ear-to-ear for them as I read it. They all sound like good, sensible people who paid their dues, and it was a well-deserved win. I hope they're able to build far-reaching generational wealth with it and travel and see the world. I work 12-hour shifts too and have been playing for many years, stories like this remind me it's always possible. Here's hoping

You know, the same thought came to mind when I first read the title of the article.

And after a brief eye scan of the whole piece I recognized not only the specifics but them folks were featured some days ago here in our local news and are fellow Canucks!

Made me feel all the more better that good things do happen.

Couldn't have asked for a better retirement send off.

I think the title should have been Two Factory workers share $80.4 million Lotto Max prize

When I saw Factory workers share.... my mind by default went into thinking 20 or 30 or 40 people

Before we do anything, I want to take my time and get advice from the right people, Krys explained. I don't want to go crazy. I want to listen to my team and make sure we're setting things up properly for future generations.

Factory workers of nearly 30 years to retire as Canada's biggest lottery winners

Two friends made Canadian Lottery history last week when they split $80.4 million (US$59 million) in Lotto Max winnings, officially making it the largest lottery payout in the nation.

There's a new record for the largest lottery payout ever claimed in Canada, set by two friends who immigrated to the country in the 1990's looking for a better life for them and their families.
