Probably someone that never plays put it some where, forgot about it, found it weeks later, assumed it was a loser, never checked it, and then threw it out.

The ticket was bought at Gordon s Bait Tackle on Padre Island Highway in Brownsville, so yeah, a hoarder situation there wouldn't be shocking with all the fishing gear and random stuff piling up. Deadline's 5pm, May 14, at the Austin HQ on Congress Ave, and it's a cash-value pick for about $43.7 million pre-tax, with those numbers: 7-17-23-28-39-48. If it goes unclaimed, that money funds Texas schools and stuff, which isn't a total loss but still wild to think about.

It would be sad if the winner never comes forward.

It would be very traumatic if they found out two weeks after the expiration that they have the winning ticket

i used to live near a hoarder house. they didn't have curtains for some reason so you could see it all pretty well. apparently they drew the line at hoarding drapery.

That really could be a big part of the reason for unclaimed wins. I read one time that at least 1 out of 200 homes has a hoarder.

I loved the TV show hoarders but was in complete shock at the first episode years ago.

An elderly woman near me is a bad hoarder. I went over to help her update her computer and placed my jacket on a pile of stuff. Ended up with bug bites and spent the weekend washing slip covers and bedding; etc. to prevent the bugs spreading. Likely bedbugs. Tried to get t... [ More ]

man, have you ever seen a hoarder house up close? it might be in a shopping bag, which is stuffed inside a crockpot, which is packed a laundry basket, which is stored in a nonfunctional shower. along with a hundred other shopping bags, kitchen pots and laundry baskets.

I live in Texas and play this game all the time. I remember when it got hit after months of rolling. I hope whoever won comes forward before it expires. I'd hate for them to forfeit their prize although I'm glad that some of it goes to the Veterans Assistance Fund. If only I had won, I'd have claimed it months ago!!! Lol.

Well folks, who is the culprit this time ?? Dashboard, glovebox, sun visor, wallet, sock drawer, unchecked pile of tickets on the desk, pants pocket, washing machine, trashcan?? Unless it's medical, expiration or incarceration, why wouldn't someone take better care of an item potentially worth millions of dollars ?
