as inflation dictates, i could see states making the minimum bet on the pick 3 and pik 4 games becoming $1 instead of $0.50.

here in canada our lotto increased to $2 a set but they added an extra prize category $5 for 2+b big deal!!!! havent hit it yet! so that nice little 18 number wheel for $42 now costs $84 a'lot tougher to win your money back

as long as it don't happen to the numbers games i'll play but the day the pick 3 and 5 go up to two bucks then thats when i'll call it quits,i don't play the scratch offs because i feel like i'm in a casino i spend a few bucks,win a few bucks,spend it back,lose it back,win some more,play some more,lose a lil,win a lil,and i always end up with the same amount i started with.

i could see it happening to more lotto games as inflation dictates, but not with numbers games because you can spend $2 on a number. with the numbers games, you can choose your bet amount, and that will stay in tact. the lotteries use the bet amount option for the pick 3 and pick 4 games to get you to play with your spare change. once you're in the store, you will see the signs for the instant games and the lotto games, and you're doomed to spend more on a chance to win more.

They really can't afford to do that..most of the numbers players are the little people. If they raise the prices, then the bottom line will begin to shrink. Also, they would have to make the winnings a lot more than what they are now..just my opinion.
