Don't forget, once Powerball sets a new jackpot record, jackpot increases are limited and money is added to the second tier prize fund.

yeah. i think the other reason why mega millions will reach $400 million first is the fact that there are so many powerball states, and so many border stores. granted mega millions has more people in the states, it has fewer people living outside their states. because powerball has so many states, and so much notatiety in the media, they have a lot more people crossing the borders to purchase tickets, saturating the game.

I personally hope Powerball hits $400 Million first and it certainly can happen, but once we reach $314.9 million, the national and international media headlines of New Record Pb Jackpot Up for Grabs will stoke the fires of an already existing feeding frenzy for tickets.
