rjoh, your missing the point of the hypothetical. i agree it would be a dumb thing for a lottery commission to do. the question was whether you would like to take an all of nothing chance.

Any lottery commission would be pressing its luck if it offered anyone a 50/50 chance to multiply a dollars by five per dollar bet. It would lose 50% of the times and pay out 2.5 times the money it would take in, no lottery commission is that dumb.RJOh

If you won a 10 million dollar jackpot and the lottery commission offered you a 50/50 chance at a 50 million dollar jackpot, in exchange for jackpot; would you take the money (10 million) and run, or take a chance at the 50 million?Now, I know alot of you dont like the lottery commission people, but for the sake of this post just assume the 50/50 drawing is indeed a fair 50/50 chance.
