Ironic that OR is continuing its Lose for Life (without a cash option)-OR Megabucks was the first US lottery game to give players a choice of lump sum or annuity.

The entire concept of the game is depressing if you do a little math. Figure out your life expectancy, subtract it from your current age. Then add up what the Present Day Value of all those 1000 a week checks will be once you adjust for inflation. For just about everyone, the $750,000 cash option looks a lot more attractive.

Washington state is replacing the Lucky for Life online game with a $5 scratch game of the same name. The scratch will offer a $750,000 cash option for the lifetime prize (the computerized version does not.)OR and PA need to offer a cash option for their lifetime prizes or scrap their games.
