Hey, I say that anything can happen. It could reach a record jackpot. I always believe in the odds. The odds that a lot of winners in a short while means fewer wins in the future.

Good point, rjoh. If the Powerball jackpot does set a new record, it automatically uncaps the previous record.

What does it matter, that rule has never been used since its creation, and if it is ever used it becomes even harder to reach a level for it to be used again.RJOh

Unfortunately, I think the Powerball game will still have the match 5 bonus pool rule under the 5/55 + 1/42 matrix.

Visiondude,That $365 million number you were thinking of was the record largest lottery jackpot of $363 million set by The Big Game on May 9, 2000.

ok thanks guys. maybe it's time for a new jack in town? one suggestion to all you travelers who are going to other states to play, consider buying the 10 advance draws since you are only making one trip. that way you are at least guaranteed to be in it till it is won, instead piling all your $$$$ into just the next drawing. i would much rather be in every drawing until it's won with $1, then throw $20 at the next drawing and miss out if it rolls. you know, that if i am meant to blah bl... Nice rollover. Now if it rolls over again I will get to play it since I'll be in Oregon. For a record pot it would have to roll 4 more times.$155$180$220$290$360+something like that. I would doubt it would get that high. I'm predicting it will get hit at the 200 level.

Hi Vision To the best of my recollection, it ended up about $314.9 Million on the eve of December 25th, 2002...the night I bought my first lottery ticket. I've still got the news release on a CD so I'll check, but I'm quite sure anything above $315M should set a new single recipient record.
