I have found that I spent far more on state lotteries when they got a really high jackpot then MM or Powerball. By not playing multi-state games until it hits 300 million the odds of it rolling past that are incredably low since it has never happened. With state games you really never know what it can roll to. I can say that Washington and Oregon have both saved me money by switching to computer drawings since then I spend far less on any game.

not really sure if i bought more than i should ...or one less ticket than i needed yes, to be honest, when Powerball exceeds approx $116 million, i tend to increase my spending and indulge a little ...but the most i've ever spent for a single draw at that level (and above) is $30.00 ...why $116 million? , i really don't know

Two years ago while traveling in a Powerball state, I bought 25 sets of numbers - each good for 4 drawings ($100.00 total). The jackpot was over 200M and I knew I wouldn't have another chance to buy tickets before the jackpot was hit. The jackpot was hit on the 2nd of my 4 drawing, so I wasted $50.00. I only won a few dollars and never cashed in the tickets since I haven't been back to that state since...

Back in the day, before marriage and kids, there were occasions when I spent way more than I should. Now I limit myself to $5 or less for the most part (usually $2 or $3). Every once in a great blue moon when I am feeling extra lucky I might splurge and spend up to $10 on one draw but that is pretty much the absolute maximum now a days. -Bonnie

Not sure if I overindulged or underinvested. Underinvested since I didnt play enough to supercede the odds and hit the jackpot.Once played $50.00 on Powerball, didnt hit a single number that night! My friend played $2 (quick pick) and she won $100.00 , so I told her to give me $50.00 of it back since it was my money that funded her winnings! She didnt buy that logic though...dern nabbit I've gotta get dumber friends

Back in April I hit either the pick 3 or the pick 4 on every draw for 2 weeks a couple of times I hit both. During that time frame I was also playing around 30.00 a day on 999 on both mid and eve draw.

I just started figurin for cash 5 and up games. What bothers me is that I may figure maybe 50 or 75 lines and not want to play that many lines. Not playing all the lines and have the big winner in the ones I did not play would really......... me off.I can control my spending in the 3 and 4 game and not play the winner on the list does not bother me. But when I think about not playing the line and have the big hit in there whew.

I had spent close to $20 before here and there, mainly to experiment with charting/wheeling.I only spent an extra buck for this upcoming MM draw. I went back to quality picks. Last draw I made two lines; hit 17-32-39, but one # was in another line.

I usually buy $2 (one QP, one combination) for tickets!!! When the prize get higher I spend $5 (2QP, 3 combinations). As the jackpot 's really high, I spend about $10-$15 for the tickets!!! hehehe

At one point I was spending between $50-$100 a week, but I was making $200 a day. So that really wasn't that painfully, now I am down to $1-$20 depends on a jackpot

When the in state lotto got up to 30 million a few months back. I was playing 20 bucks a draw that's 60 dollars a week it adds up pretty quick, just wondering if anyone else ever did that
