No, lottery balls often last many years. It would be waaaaaay too expensive to change them out every couple of months. They are quite expensive.They normally rotate between 4 or 5 sets of balls -- chosen randomly before the drawing.

Does anyone know how often the balls in the mega-millions game are changed? I read somewhere that a regular state-run semi-weekly lottery typically changed out the balls every two months. In trying to track mega-ball numbers to an 8-week cycle it appears to have some validity but I thought someone actually might know.Anybody
