If Powerball can survive that long without being hit, it will be a new record for most consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Currently, both Powerball and Mega Millions have a record of 19 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Mega Millions may survive that long too, but it's less likely, because its jackpot is growing too fast, so more players will be playing, increasing the chance it will be hit before then.

I think if ticket sales remain low for Powerball and the jackpot isn't won, maybe MM's could catch up. That is of course, if MM's sells a bunch more tickets and isn't won either.

Powerball only raised $9 million in the last drawing while Mega Million raised by $10 million. Could Mega Millions catch up to the Powerball jackpot during these runs?Brad
