Powerball sales are slow because of Christmas and possibly because of Lottery burnout when the 2nd and 3rd biggest Lottery Jackpots were won on 10/19/05 ($340M-PB) and 11/15/05 ($315M-MM). Who is burned out on the Lottery? NOT ME

When Mega Millions increased their matrix, the big state California jumped on board, and since California has had two jackpot winners this month, it must have finally got them on board to increase sales. Powerball, on the other hand, did not get any new states along with their matrix change, thus no new source of increased sales. Powerball has pretty much saturated the small states; it is a victi... [ More ]

Actually I do have a guess. Maybe the sales are low because of the holidays. It could be that people are spending a lot of their money on gifts and not tickets.

My guess is when/if the Powerball jackpot goes above 100 million then things will start to pick up. I have no idea why sales are so slow lately.

What has been up with Powerball sales lately? They haven't been increasing at all. Finally this last drawing they sold $17,000,000 when for the past how many drawings they never made it out of the $14,000,000 range. You can tell by the jackpot going up such small amounts. For comparision, Mega Millions sold almost $17,000,000 tickets just for the smallest jackpot amount possible $12,000,000. If it wasn't won last Tuesday I bet MM could of caught up to Powerball in jackpot amounts.Brad... [ More ]
