PP, I had the same problem counting skips. The formula wasn't reading some of the digits. The solution is in the format . Type 1 in an empty cell, copy that cell, drag your columns where the digits are, paste special, multiply.Bob

Thanks Paurths...It's my excel that is doing it. It's not doing it on all of the states or numbers just some of them.your Jan 06. number 4 ..mine is off by one on this. I hand counted them to make sure. I don't understand this. All the cells have the same formula in it to count the digits.I'm going to have to recheck this over and see why it won't count all the digits.PP
