Oh, and to make the author richer off of your money. From what I hear, its expensive, so he is making a nice little sum. Better then working in a cemetary trimming the grass around tombstones. Strange how that works. Now, if only Oprah would put it on the recommended humor list

Dave Barry said one of his teachers tole him he couldn't laugh and joke his way through life.

I just thought something like playing the lot number on a box of doughnuts and sinilar things to win millions was pretty incredible.

For all the threads you can read here and real life discussions people have about hitting the lottery, it sure seems like luck and destiny are a much bigger factor than scientific and mathematical theories (on the pick 5 and 6 games).

These people who write books when they have no idea of how to win amaze me. I remember Business 101, a professor telling me how the business world works. He spent two years at Xerox and became a teacher, never seeing the business world again, except in books or movies. I had had twenty years in the real world, with major coporations; Boeing, Sprint, Verizon, Sears, etc. None of them did what the professor said. Newly hired college graduates talked about all the principles, and brain-stormin... [ More ]

Lottery history is replete with similar stories. I remember reading several years ago about a woman in Florida who won a jackpot there. I can't recall how much she won, but I believe it was a record amount at the time. Anyway, she chose her numbers from her morning newspaper; she said she just played the first six numbers she saw, and it paid off for her.

Stories like these are only good when people actually win with their off-the-wall methods. When they lose, we chalk it up to their obvious... [ More ]

Pure luck? The odds are so high against a single ticket hitting a major jackpot game that no method, no matter how odd, is any better or worse than another. You can spend 40 hrs/week trying to predict the numbers that will fall, and not get it. And you can just pick 6 or 7 from somewhere and get it. IMHO spending time trying to figure the larger jackpot games isn't worth it. You do just as well if you pick numbers out of a hat, assuming you aren't trying to win the smaller tier prizes. If yo... [ More ]
