Unless Texas drops Mega Millions, there's no way they'll get Powerball, since the MUSL has some sort of no-compete clause in its contract.

If both games are going to merge, the officilas of those games will bring that about, not an individual state.

If Mega Meillions is whining about sales being down, let MM drop the new expanded matrixes.

I'm flying into Dallas Friday, and I'll buy some scratch offs and play the Texas Lottery as I do whenever I visit. However, I don't think any state will ever get both games at once.

Texas lottery officials are working behind the scenes to add Powerball to their game lineup. If approved, Texas would be first state to have both jackpot games.

Before you vote, consider the following:

Lottery Chairman C. Tom Crowe Jr. is pushing the idea. He is upset that large numbers of Texas gamblers drive to NM, LA and OK to buy Powerball tickets. He seemed particularly upset recently when the PB jackpot grew to $365 million, compared to a much lower MegaMillions jackpot.
