good point made seadeus.they could probably make even more with a pick 4 but like you said they are scared it would mess up the current flow of things.

I've read that more Texas Pick 3 tickets are sold than any other lottery ticket west of the Mississippi. Why fix what aint broke. A Pick 4 would compete with their Pick 3 with the additional problem that players win less often and thus may be discouraged from playing eventually. They might think that once they are discouraged they will not go back to playing Pick 3, but instead will be turned off to all lottery games.

Texas will get around to it when someone points out to them how much money they are losing for the state.

Maryland's lottery started in 1976 and it was 1983 before they adopted a pick 4 drawing and that was only a few times a week.

For whatever reason, they just don't want a pick 4 game here on Texas.

That is just one of the many reasons why I don't like those who run the lottery.

They always say, maybe later and then a few years later they repeat, maybe later, it is always maybe later, but it is also always never.

In terms of population, California is a lot bigger than Texas, and they don't have a Pick 4 either.

I think its just a case of the state looking at it and feeling they cannot make enough of a profit from that game. Remember, it's all done for profit.

My guess is that they don't want it competing with other games. I wished Idaho had a Pick 4 game. I'd probably play it all the time.
