As far as I know it's a spearate bet, it doesn't appear on the playslip (in Illinois), you have to tell the clerk front pair or back pair or both (middle pair also on a pick 4).

So, 123 $1 straight box (mid day or evening), front pair, back pair, would cost $3, $1 for straight box, $1 for front pair, $1 for back pair. If you want to play the 123 straight or box it's still the same, that's independent of the pairs.

The best way to play is straight and boxed. That way if your number comes

in. You can win either way. You can at least get a boxed hit.

For instance if you were to play 123 for st. and boxed if it comes in st.

you would get 290.00. and if it comes in any other order. you would get

40.00. And that is for playing a 1.00

And for doubles the pay out goes up

for stright/boxed on a double st. would pay 330 and boxed 80.00

and for 1.00 Straight it pays 500.00

Match first two numbers in exact order

BACK PAIR:X2310$25$50

Match last two numbers in exact order

The question is do you have to be playing straight to win these prizes?
