Calif had the game Deco pick one card from each suit... the good ole days before pari-mutual prizes! I know someone that played all the 4 of kinds every draw. If i remember right you got a replay for matching 1, $5 for match 2, $50 for match 3 and $5000 for match 4. The quad never came up

Why would California Lottery Officials or the State government be afraid the players would win too much money? California has para-mutuel wagering on all the games. It does not hurt the state of California if there are a lot of winners.

LM, We used to have a game that resembled Pick-4, using playing cards. I think also WA State had the same game called Quatro. Some years back CA done away with the Pick-4 game, I can't recall what it was called, and replaced it with Daily Derby. DD is like playing two Pick-3 games. DD ticket is $2 per play. Hardly anyone played the Pick-4 game, and I wonder why DD is still around. Sunny Escondido, California John

Not sure. I think CA has enough games. They just added the MegaMillions last year and pick 3 midday not too long ago. Sometimes you can spread yourself too thin. Keep fewer games and bigger jackpots
