Hi

Thank you zealot and SirMetro, as you can tell I do not know that much about

writing programs or formulas. But I am going to give it a try. I have put several

of the programs that are on this website together and backing testing them.

So far they are very very good.

I do want to thank everyone that has given of their time and effort on these

programs.

Well, the simple part is FIRST, you must break the numbers into their individual components (Pick 3 is 3 parts, Pick 4 is 4 parts)

This can be done with these 3 formulas

D2 =SUM(1*(LEFT(C2,1)))

E2 =SUM(1*(MID($C2,2,1)))

F2 =SUM(1*(MID($C2,3,1)))

The (1*) converts the text to a number without fancy data formating. This will only work as a macro, if you are writing VBA, you will have to format the data.

Group sum is

R2=sum(D2:F2

The formula for finding the digital root of a number x in Microsoft EXCEL program is -

fx = 1 + ( (MOD(x-1) , 9

Hi

I need to write this in excell, please help.

For p3--

199 should it be =a+b+c(d+e)(f+g=([total])<=9>=1

for p4

1468 should it be =a+b+c+d(e+f)(g+h)=([total])<=9>=1

I need to get the sums with roots.

P3 ROOTS P4 ROOTS

-------------- ---------------

199=19=10=1 1468=19=10=1

Any help with this is very greatly appreciated, I am dealing with large

numbers from these programs to get down to the roots.
