NY Lotto could go back to being annuity-only (like GA Lose for Life) and it wouldn't lose much money from me as I rarely play it. I hope soon NY Lotto starting jackpots will be lowered to 2 million.

I hope sales for NY lotto continues dropping...Hope they don't sell 1 ticket...Hope they end up owing people money and they get sue...

If NY Lotto is changed (rather than NY replacing it with a niche game) I can see the annuity going to 30 graduated payments, like in Powerball. NY Lotto is a game of extremes.

If NY Lotto were to go to a bonus ball format without hiking the prize payout, it would probably have only eight prize levels; it would have no 0+1 prize. NY Millennium Millions, which was a special $2 game in 1999 and 2000, had eight prize levels.

CASH Only, I think NY Lotto needs to increase the payout. If not, I think they'll go to a bonus game. I prefer 5/49+1/40.

You might remember that for a few weeks in 1985, NY had Lotto 40 (Monday), Lotto 44 (Wednesday), and Lotto 48 (Saturday) simultaneously. The following year, Lotto 40 became Cash 40 (of course the 40 also referred to the payout percentage,) which turned into Take Five in 1992.

Who knows. NY Lotto used to do well, but they changed it several times anyway (6/40, 6/44, 6/48, 6/54, 6/51 [$1], and now 6/59). Maybe now that it's lagging they might start a if it ain't broke, don't fix it strategy.

NY Lotto sales have been falling rapidly; the refusal to increase the payout above the prehistoric 40% is looming larger than ever. Will there be overdue changes to NY Lotto either this year, or in 2007? Remember NY has had a Republican governor since 1995; we are almost certain to have a Democrat elected in November, which virtually guarantees a new lottery director by next year.
