Not many TV stations in Texas show the actual drawings, real-time or delay.

The stations I can view show all of the winning numbers for the games played during a commercial break.

I don't the know the real reasons why but the conspiracy theory is that the stations want to be paid to show the drawings.

I like to watch it even when i don't play, specially the Illinois lottery...I don't like watching pick3 and pick4 because i don't like the machines...

That among watching tv shows before they air on regular tv and live unedited commercial free sporting events was one of very few benefits of having a gigantic dish sitting in your backyard

I used to watch the lottery draws when I had C-Band satellite tv. The drawings are done live. Sometimes they draws several times before the actual draw, I guess to make sure the machines are running okay. I used to watch the ga, ky, oh, il, and mn draws and I know that those draws weren't tape delayed.

I don't watch the draws ever. I don't check the ticket until the next day (sunday and thursday since I only play PB).

I suspect the drawings are actually on a time delay to edit out the wasted motion of traveling between drawing machines for each game so that all the actual drawings will fit in the 30-60 seconds time slot allowed. Some states show drawings for five different games and advertise other games during that time.

If that's true then watching them can't change their results.

I have to give you credit for taking a TV lottery drawing to a whole new level (or should I say dimension?) Wintariofan. As I said, I don't watch them. I guess I am a real lottery nut...lol Especially on big jackpot nights ! USING THE BLACK LIGHT HIGH LIGHTER METHOD.

I have a whole two hours laid out before the draw and another hour after the draw is over. A night for me starts by getting in those last minute ticket selections. I chose sometimes , because I watch it when I'm not at work.

A friend of mine from work always wants me to write the results down and show them to him when we are at work and I check them on the pc. For some reason he thinks he has better luck when I write the results down over just telling him them.

I chose *sometimes*, only because when I travel or have appointments, they supercede my desire to watch the live drawing. I do prefer to watch the live drawings, because the order of the numbers can be indicators. Plus as another poster stated, there is something wonderful and appealing to seeing your exact picks come up on the tv :) .

Never watch the drawings. I prefer to check my own tickets under that little blue light that you stick the bar code under at the store where I buy my tickets. I like being surprised and even though Sorry Not A Winner usually appears, it makes it double fun when you see Winner

Our drawings don't come on till 11pm so I tape the drawings on power ball night and watch it sometimes in the morning..Most of the time I can't wait and stay up and watch.........

..........After playing 111 on and off since Jan 02 and missing them consistantly, it was overwhelmingly, unbelievable, and simply rewarding just watching 111 POP up before my eyes on television in early 2006 - I was just glad that I played it for several days that week, since I've always missed 111 whenever it seldomed played

I usually have a pen and a post note nearby to watch the drawing.

I'll keep that in mind, Rick. I'll look up the Florida schedule and try it this week. I never noticed the women that much. I wish they'd hire Richard Gere, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves or Rob Lowe. Then at least I could get excited even if my numbers don't hit.

She has some young competition doing the draws now. Some hussy named Magdalena Martinez. If Linda doesn't remove the restraining order I might have to turn my affections towards Magdalena. Hot as a habanero pepper in Hell (but too young for this old pervert).

Here. like more and more states, you have no choice. Since they went to computer-generated picks to save money, they also don't televise the drawings. Not that there is anything to televise, since there are no ping pong balls.....

i watch the drawings every chance i get here. They use different solid colored balls and they rarely have the same colored balls placed in the machines in the exact order as they had in the previous draw. Which is another reason why it's harder to pick a winner. We have no idea if they use the same balls from drawing to drawing either, or if they mix them up or if the put the pick 3 balls they used from the last draw in the pick 4 machines and vice versa.

I guess I'm one of the oddballs here. I watch our midday drawing almost every day. I feel luckier watching the draw and have won more money watching than not watching. To support this theory, I rarely watch the evening draw and have won it much less often than the midday.

i have never watched a drawing and won.i always check the numbers later.its especially exciting to look and realize you won.i remember coming in one morning from work last april and weshar pm'd me and wrote that one of my numbers hit in oregon where he lives.as soon as i saw this i got excited because i had been betting oregon with betslips.so i checked the e-mail from betslips from the drawing that morning and sure enough i had won a few thousand.

This is why I don't ever watch a drawing! I'd rather just look at the results online and be disappointed all at once!!

Seriously, the reason I chose never is only because when I've seen a drawing it's only because I'm already watching that channel. I've never turned on the TV to watch a drawing. Sometimes I'm watching the news and the numbers are displayed, but 99.9% of the time I get the results online just before midnight or the next morning.

Yeah, we watch the evening drawing on WGN-TV (Chicago) most nights...

With a pick 3 or pick 4 as soon as one number is one you don't have it's Oh well, that's toast .

with Little Lotto (5/39) it goes like this

I feel the same way. I'm very hesitant to check my tickets also. I don't know why, it's crazy. I always wait till the last minute to check them.
